Ford Ranger Towing Power

Tow Up to 7,500 Pounds with the 2021 Ford Ranger

One thing we know about the 2021 Ford Ranger is that it always steps up to the plate when you need it to. That’s especially true when you need to tow a boat to the lake or carry building equipment to the worksite. With a standard turbocharged 2.3L EcoBoost® 4-cylinder engine, the Ranger can tow up to 7,500 pounds when properly equipped, while also producing 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque.

To help you tow, the Ranger makes BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross-Traffic Alert and Trailer Coverage available. This system helps you change lanes and merge more easily by alerting you to other vehicles in your side blind spot. With trailer coverage, this protection is extended along the length of your trailer.

Ford Ranger Payload

Pack Heavy: The Ford Ranger Has 1,860 Pounds of Payload Capacity

We all know that the bed is one of the most important parts of any truck. With the Ford Ranger, you’ll get to choose between two different cargo beds:

  • 5-foot bed: 43.3 cubic feet of cargo volume
  • 6-foot bed: 51.8 cubic feet of cargo volume

As you can see, the 2021 Ranger allows you to carry up to 51.8 cubic feet of cargo volume in its 6-foot box. It also has a payload capacity of 1,860 pounds, which means you can load your dirt bikes or ATVs into the cargo bed for a weekend in the Michigan wilderness.

If you need even more cargo room, the SuperCab features a rear bench seat that can lift up to reveal under-seat storage. This is a convenient place to store smaller items you want to keep secure and out of sight.

Available Ford Co-Pilot360™ Driver-Assistive Technologies Offer Even More Convenience

As we already discussed, the 2021 Ranger makes BLIS® with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert and Trailer Coverage available to make towing even more safe and convenient. This feature is part of the available Ford Co-Pilot360™ suite, which includes a variety of standard and available driver-assistive features, like:

  • Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking
  • Rear View Camera with Dynamic Hitch Assist
  • Lane-Keeping System
  • Auto High-Beam Headlamps

Additionally, this Ford pickup provides even more technologies that can help to improve your awareness of your surroundings when out on the road. For example, available Forward and Reverse Sensing Systems can help you park your truck by issuing an audible alert when you’re too close to another vehicle behind you or in front of you.

As for visibility, available rain-sensing windshield wipers help you take on inclement weather. They turn on and adjust their speed automatically based on the rate of precipitation on the windshield.
